About Radiant Darkness Art
My name is Jonathan Ruark, and I am the founder/owner of Radiant Darkness Art. I am a USMC veteran that got out of the military and went to school and got a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. in Renewable Energy Engineering at Oregon Tech University in Klamath Falls, Oregon. I have lived here for going on 8 years now.
Despite having a strong skill for the logical side of things and a love for that world, my soul still craved more from the creative. I am a creator - I need to create things. Fulfilling this need and pouring my love and energy into the growth and development of my son and maintaining a fulltime engineering career seems impossible, so after much coaxing from friends and loved ones to start selling my art, I decided to bring Radiant Darkness to life in the Klamath Falls Farmer's Market in summer of 2024.

I bring an engineer's eye for detail and quality to my art. This is also why I do my own printing with a high-quality fine art printer. I am able to use my drawing tablet for my digital designs, and I incorporate that love for 3D modeling I always had even as an engineer into my designs. Using technology, I can merge world's together that not many other can. I can develop workflows that allow me to create more things which makes it possible to not have to charge astronomical prices for the work. My need for making new stuff and my desire to bring a unique value to the people that appreciate my art enough to purchase it is why I choose to do limited editions for my works.

One of the most enjoyable things for me is when someone comes to me and I can see their face light up as they tell me their creative ideas they have in their head, and then I get to bring that vision to life for them. I love hearing people's creative interpretations of how they perceive the meaning of my art, or if they want to dig in and ask the deeper questions about the art's meaning. So, if you ever want to swing by the Farmer's Market and share your creative ideas or dive into some of mine, there is pretty much no path I am not willing to travel on in the creative - so don't be shy. Or you're welcome to send me a message as well if that's easier. Maybe it's something we can bring into a tangible reality!
